Bowled Out
The bowls members in Grange brought their season to a close on Monday night (March 31) with dinner and presentation of prizes. The Bowler of the Year was won yet again by Charlie Heather and the runner up spot was won jointly by Noel Lowry and Doreen Agnew. The Captain Rory O'Riordan and his wife Ann, and Lady Captain Rita Nealon and Committee member Anne McNamara were guests for the night. An exhibition of bowling was given by both captains. On Rory's team he selected Anne McNamara, Ken Hicks and Iseult Kennedy and the lady captain had Charlie Heather, Tom Synnott and Gladys Ruddock. The game was very exciting. Played over four ends, the newcomers looked like old pros at the game, with Rory acting as Slamming Sam and enjoying it. The result was a win for Rory's team and a slagging for the losers.
End of Season Bridge Party
The final night of the bridge took place on Thursday, 27th March. Some bridge was played but the season was rounded off with a dinner at which the Captains Rory and Rita and the President Fergus attended.
The Captains Drive In
St. Patrick's Day in Grange is a big day for captains of the club. The 2008 captains Rory and Rita were there to give the traditional drive in demonstration. Members turned out in large numbers, in glorious sunshine, to cheer them on and wish them well for the year ahead. All is revealed in the gallery.

What Are Seniors Worth
Remember, old folks are worth a fortune with silver in their hair, gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet and gas in their stomachs.
I have become a little older since I saw you last and a few changes have come into my life; frankly I have become a frivolous old gal!
I am seeing six gentlemen every day. As soon as I wake up, Will Power helps me out of bed.
Then I go to see Johnny Loo.
Next Charlie Cramp comes along and when he's here he takes up a lot of my attention.
When he leaves Arthur Ritis shows up and stays around all day. He doesn't like to stay in one place very long so he takes me from joint to joint.
After such a busy day I'm really tired and glad to go to bed with Johnny Walker.
What a life! Oh yes! I'm also fighting with Al Zymer.
P.S. The minister came to call the other day. He said that I should be thinking about the hereafter. I told him "Oh, I do! All the time. On my way home, in the parlour, upstairs, in the kitchen or down in the basement, I say to myself "Now, what am I here after!
The Ladies Say Goodbye To Jeff
The ladies gathered on Tuesday morning, 4th December, to wish Jeff a happy retirement. The Lady Captain (Pauline Dwan) who retires from office this week paid tribute to Jeff and said that for the fifteen years that Jeff worked in Grange he had always been very gracious and helpful to the ladies, and on their behalf made him a presentation and wished him well in his retirement.
