Leinster Mid Amateur Open Championship

The Golfing Union of Ireland - Leinster Branch Mid Amateur Open Championship (sponsored by A and L Goodbody) took place at Grange Golf Club on Friday, August 15. Representatives as far away as Warrenpoint and Clandeboye in the North, Rosslare in the South, Roscommon in the West  and most of the Leinster clubs took part. Scoring over the 36 holes was a mixed bag with no tearing the course asunder.
The results are as follows:
First on 140 - J. Carvill (Warrenpoint) 69-71
Second on 147 - A. Dowling (Hermitage) 74-73
Third on 148 - P. Errity (European Club) 74-74 (on tie)
Fourth on 148 - J. Mc Ginn (l. /Bettystown)74-74 (on tie)
Fifth on 148 -  J. Crangle (Fortwilliam) 71-77

Best Gross 1st Rd: Alan Condren (Greystones) 72
Best Nett 1st Rd: Ian Smyth (Grange) 69

Best Gross 2nd Rd: John Hannon (Carton House) 73
Best Nett 2nd Rd: Tony Hynes (Rosslare ) 69
